First Post!

I am not a "blogger". Somehow though, I am writing on a blog. So it goes.

I decided to start this blog because, for the past 6 months or so, my life has turned into a gluten free bonanza. My boyfriend discovered the cause to his chronic stomach pain, and ever since we have been shunning wheat and opening our pantry to gluten free delights!

At first, our objective was to cover the "basics": cookies, cakes, brownies, hamburger buns, beer. As time passed, we started looking for other meals to make, such as pasta, pizza, chicken fingers, stir-fry...etc. Through our cooking escapades we've done a lot experimenting and a lot of tweaking to ingredients and recipe directions. Not everything has turned out well (one time our "bread reeked like vinegar and lemon), but we've definitely been able to improve upon the standard mixes.

My goal with this blog is not to tell you what you already know. For example: Did you know that they make gluten free pasta now?? The only folks that don't know that are ones that don't know Google and certainly don't read blogs. My goal is to share with you how to take these packaged gluten free products and make them 10 times better. You can have just as much variety eating gluten free foods as you can eating gluten-rich foods. I promise.
